IT'S TIME TO DREAM AGAIN!

The Northwestern Christian Writers Conference committee
has made the decision to transition to a
FULLY VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE for this year's conference.

What does this mean for our attendees?
  • Instead of attending 3-4 workshops, you will have access to all 19 workshops online for two weeks.
  • If you scheduled a 1:1 appointment, you will get to meet with your faculty on Zoom.
  • Enjoy a fun mix of recorded and live experiences, some not offered in the past. Look for words like "discount" and "free."
  • Friends and family who couldn't attend due to travel and lodging can now join you in this adventure!

When and Where

July 24-25
Live and recorded virtual sessions

July 25-August 8, 2020
Access to recorded sessions online

Keynote Speakers

Friday: Mentor, award-winning writer, and international speaker Alicia Britt Chole
Saturday: #1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury

1:1 Appointments

Available on a first come, first served basis, a 1:1 appointment consists of a 10-minute conversation with one of our faculty members. 1:1 appointments set up by the conference will take place throughout the day on Saturday, July 25 and are held in a live Zoom meeting.

In order to make the most of your 1:1 appointment, we recommend that you carefully prepare by reviewing the faculty members' areas of expertise, needs, and requests, and identifying those best suited for your goals as a writer.

Pre-conference Sessions

This year we are offering three pre-conference sessions that will take place Friday, July 24 from 2:00-4:30 p.m.

Pre-conference sessions are limited to 50 attendees per session and must be purchased in addition to conference registration. In order to purchase a pre-conference session, attendees must also purchase a standard, premium, or student registration.

Workshops

Workshop presentations will be available to view at any time between Saturday, July 25 and Saturday, August 8. Videos will not be available for downloading or sharing.

All workshop titles and descriptions are available for viewing on the Workshops page.

Pro Advice Panels

Open from 9:oo a.m.–4:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, July 25, the Pro Advice Panels are an informal space to ask questions and discuss ideas, careers, hopes, and fears. Faculty members will rotate throughout the day and are not guaranteed to be present. Attendees can expect a panel of 3-5 faculty members each hour who will field questions and offer insights and advice on a given area of the writing-publishing journey.

Pro Advice Panels will be limited to 50 attendees at a time.

Premium Panel Discussion

Included in the premium registration, join other attendees for the opportunity to hear from a panel of four professionals.

Registration

Registration for the conference is done through the UNW Ticket Office online (unwtickets.com) or by phone (651-631-5151).

Scholarships

The Northwestern Christian Writers Conference seeks to make the conference accessible to as many people as possible. It is our hope that one of these scholarships will be the opportunity for you to attend.
