How do I get to the Northwestern Christian Writers Conference?
Can I bring my baby to the Conference?
Children and babies are very important to us. However, the conference format is not conducive to children. In order to limit distractions to other attendees, infants, and children will not be admitted. Please begin making childcare arrangements now. We appreciate your cooperation. A private lactation room will be available for nursing mothers. Mothers are responsible for bringing your own equipment and storing breast milk should you desire to do so.
Is there a hotel close to the Conference?
do I need to choose the workshops I would like to attend before I arrive at the conference?
We do NOT require you to sign up for workshops beforehand. We actually encourage you to begin praying and asking God to reveal what workshops He would have you participate in. You can find the list of WORKSHOPS on our website, and we'll also have the faculty introduce themselves and give you a brief description of what they’re teaching the day of. Signing up for a Workshop on our scheduling site does not guarantee you a spot at that Workshop. Workshops are first-come-first-serve day of.

What should I bring?
Your one-page pitch, book proposal or manuscript if you plan to meet for a one-on-one appointment with a faculty member. A journal, Bible, and money if you're interested in purchasing items from the Bookstore.
If I cannot attend the conference what can I do with my tickets?
Tickets are non-refundable. A few options would include:
- Try to sell the tickets; the Ticket Office (651-631-5151) will simply need to know whose name should be on the registration packet.

- Donate them to the Conference for others who would love to attend but do not have the means necessary.
Are Gluten or Vegetarian meal options available?
Yes, there are gluten and vegetarian options available. You will be prompted to enter your dietary restrictions or needs during the registration process.
How should i prepare for the conference?
Michael Hyatt has a great article for first-time authors as well as an article on how to write a winning book proposal. We highly encourage you to start preparing now. During your one-on-one appointment, agents and editors are interested in your pitch, proposal, manuscript and getting to know you. Pro tip: photos on business cards make you more memorable. Pray and trust God.

How and when do i book my one-on-one appointment?
Once you have registered, you will receive an email from the UNW Ticket Office giving you access to our sched.org site to book your One-on-One Appointment. You will need to create an account on the sched.org site; we recommend using the same email address you used to register for the Conference. You may select any password, but please keep it in a safe place for future use. Once you are logged in, browse the open appointments (red/pink listing), click the white circle next to the appointment you desire to book, and follow the instructions in the black pop-up box.
